A Word from the Director:

2009 marks an important milestone in the history of Flushing Council on Culture & the Arts (FCCA) - it’s our 30th anniversary as a multi-disciplinary arts organization as well as the 10th anniversary of the renovation of the theatre in the beautiful building we call home - Flushing Town Hall. Owned by the City of New York, this unique Romanesque Revival Building was restored for use as an arts center.

Right at your doorstep, we offer magical performances of jazz, world and classical music, puppetry theatre, dance, visual arts, school programs, and interactive workshops. The varied forms of artistic and cultural expression are as diverse as the people we welcome through our doors. This is a time of great economic upheaval – we have faced enormous budget cuts which have required many difficult decisions. But, the one thing that’s crystal clear to us is that the arts have traditionally been the place where people of all ages and walks of life come to renew themselves, come to laugh, to cry, to heal, to discover. As we celebrate our 30th Birthday, we invite you to celebrate along with us - with your support, we’ll continue presenting the arts at your doorstep throughout the years.
