Meet the Artists following the performance.John Blake, Jr. has, over the last thirty years, attained a unique position as one of the premier mainstream jazz violinists and music educators in the world. Blake is a four-time winner of Down Beat Critics’ Poll for “Talent Deserving Wide Recognition”. John frequently performs with his sister, noted storyteller, narrator, and singer Charlotte Blake Alston, who breathes life into traditional and contemporary stories from the African and African-American traditions as well as hosting Carnegie Hall’s preschool concert series “Carnegie Kids.”
