“Sheng has formidable skills and an intriguing musical voice.” (New York Times) “Charles Neidich is a master of his instrument and beyond a clarinetist.” (New York Times)

World-renowned Chinese composer, pianist, conductor,
and educator Bright Sheng’s compositions are noted around the
world for their lyrical, limpid melodies inspired by the folk music of
China and Chinese opera. Sheng serves as Leonard Bernstein
Distinguished University Professor of Music at the University of
Michigan. Clarinetist Charles Neidich appears frequently as soloist
with leading ensembles, including the Saint Louis Symphony,
Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Juilliard, Guarneri, and
Mendelssohn String Quartets, and is an ardent exponent of
new music. He is on the faculties of the Juilliard School, Queens
College, the Manhattan School, and Mannes College of Music.
