Flushing Town Hall provides exciting opportunities for kids and families to encounter the arts together. Our performance series showcases talented professionals from a variety of performing arts and cultures whose shows have proven to be entertaining for audience members young and old. Our Interactive Arts compliment these presentations by giving kids and families a fun opportunity to do a hands-on exploration of the show’s art forms taught by the performers or Flushing Town Hall teaching artists. Turn up the heat during our Latin Festival with the dancers of Ballet Hispanico School Ensemble and have fun mastering the meringue and salsa. BHSE will finish the lesson with a short dance performance before joining you on the floor as everyone tries out their new moves.

You can find folk tales in many different ethnic groups all over the world. Some stories, like Cinderella or Little Red Riding Hood, are told differently depending on the background of the storyteller. In this workshop, we’ll take a fun look at the basic elements of familiar fairy tales, re-imagine them, and bring to life new characters and circumstances that will create a fresh tale to tell in our own neighborhood.

Baby bear is frightened when he sees a strange girl-like creature in the forest one day. How will he respond when he finds her in his house? SEA-Teatro’s Goldilocks (Ricitos) and The Three Bears bilingually blends this classic story with full-size bears, fresh melodies, and fun surprises. SEA Teatro is New York City’s premiere Latino theater company for young audiences and has been presenting performances and educational programs in New York, Florida and Puerto Rico for over twenty-three years.
