7PM Workshop: Rhythmic and Stylistic Influences in Sacred Steel Music
Participants will be given historical perspectives on common rhythmic figures and stylistic influences within Sacred Steel music. Polyrhythms, syncopation and rhythmic cohesion will be demonstrated with the audience. Additionally, the impact of Hawaiian and Country music, as well as Pentecostal vocals, will be demonstrated in songs that the audience will participate in. This will be an INTERACTIVE and rocking workshop!
