Wong Wai Yee (Rowais) graduated from the Hong Kong Chuhai University in 1993 and worked some years in advertising design before immigrating to New York City. A Cantonese Hong Konger and born-again New Yorker, Rowais is very much a multifaceted Chinese literati of our time, Rowais has been a reporter in the New York Chinese news media scene with Ming Bao and China Press, serving also as radio talk host for the vintage program "City Beat" (都市節拍)  on CWBC. In recent years, Rowais is very much in the food buzz as a regular columnist of 食神小冊 MyFoodMAGZ. Besides interviewing chefs and exploring mixed genres and techniques rolling out of myriad restaurants, Rowais presents workshops at community festivals and teaches classes in Chinese language and culture. In 2016 Rowais covered for the Chinese press the first US branch of the Michelin-starred Tim Ho Wan restaurant on Union Square.
