MEMBERS' ART EXHIBITION 2008
Members of the Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts who are visual artists show their work in the exhibition, a yearly tradition at Flushing Town Hall. One hundred or more works in all media. Much of the art is for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefits Flushing Council's Visual Arts programs.

"Goin to A Go-Go" - From Hullabalou to Shindig
Rhythm & Blues music always gave a bluesy feeling and was good for dancing, television shows like "American Bandstand" and "Shidig" always featured people dancing the latest craze on camera to Rhythm & Blues, and "Motown"; the music born out of Detroit gave them a lot to dance about. Groups like "Smokey Robinson & the Miracles", "The Supremes", "The Temptations", "Stevie Wonder" and "The Jackson Five" records were a necessity at any soul party. Other groups like "Sly & the Family Stone", "The Stylictics", "The Delfonics" and "James Brown" helped to personify what soul and R&B was. Pianist / Vocalist James Jones leads us down the Soul Train in an evening of delightful Rhythm & Blues songs to enjoy. <b>Click for more information</b>
