Mashing up 2 cultures on 1 stage with an open dance floor! With Zikrayat, playing a wide repertory of Egyptian music ranging from exciting Bellydance numbers to virtuosic improvisations, and the Agoci Band combining hip-hop, roots, and calypso flavors with Haitian compas.

"Specially Processed American Me" by Jaime Sunwoo

Queens Council on the Arts' Artist Commissioning Program (ACP) and Flushing Town Hall present a play reading and talkback of Jaime Sunwoo’s Specially Processed American Me, a surreal autobiographical performance using SPAM, the canned meat, as a portal into her Asian American upbringing and her family's experiences of the Korean War.

Join Ellen as she helps demystify the process of reaching out to venues and organizations for presentation opportunities. We will go over how to know if a presentation space is a good fit for your practice, how to best communicate with them to gain their interest, and strategies for making the best impression to presenters. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A.

Coreyah: Psychedelic Korean Folk

Coreyah is a psychedelic Korean folk music group whose six members integrate traditional Korean instruments, vocals, guitar, and percussion. Since their 2010 debut, Coreyah has pioneered a new style of Korean music that blends genres of contemporary ethnic and popular sounds while still maintaining the distinctive characteristics of traditional Korean instruments.

Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) and Flushing Town Hall are pleased to present a present a virtual reading of Marcus Yi’s musical Lucky 88, a new theatre piece set in a Flushing food court. The show was selected by local Flushing community members, or “art commissioners,” as part of QCA’s Artist Commissioning Program.

Flushing Town Hall’s dedicated Teaching Artists are offering online classes in the new series “Global Arts for Global Kids - PART II” The series of arts education will run Monday through Friday.
