Below are a few answers to questions that you may have:

 

Does submitting a reservation request guarantee a program?

All education program requests are subject to availability and only confirmed AFTER you have spoken to a staff member from the Education Department. Please allow 24 hours (1 day) for a response.

 

How can I pay for my program reservation?

Check/Money Order- made payable to Flushing Town Hall

Credit Card- In person at FTH during regular business hours or over the phone

 

Is FTH an approved vendor for the NYCDOE?

Yes, we are an approved vendor with the NYC Department of Education. Our vendor number is FLU065000 and our contract number is QR891EJ.

 

When is my payment due?

Full payment for school shows are at least one month prior to the performance date. $50 deposits are required to confirm the reservation.

 

Full payment for workshops/assemblies are required 7 days prior to the program date.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be received via email or phone (no voicemail).

 

For school shows, if your reservation is cancelled more than 45 days (6 weeks) prior to the performance date, your non-refundable deposit will be transferred to a different show without a penalty. Less than 30 days, your deposit will not be refunded. Less than 48 hours (2 days), you are required to pay the full amount. 

 

For workshops and assemblies, You are welcome to change the date and/or time up to 1 week prior to the workshop/assembly. Please allow up to 7 business days to change the date. For cancellations less than 1 week, there are no refunds.

 

Can I change the number of students I am bringing after I made a reservation?

You are welcome to change the quantity of tickets in your order up to 2 weeks prior to the performance. Less than 2 weeks, there are no refunds. Please note that if you are adding tickets, we may not be able to accommodate due to limited seating. Tickets are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. If you fail to show up on the day of the performance, there are no refunds or exchanges. Groups are responsible for full payment on file regardless of whether they attend. If there is an absent student, we do not refund.

 

How are seats assigned?

Groups will be seated on a first-come, first-serve basis when you arrive at the theater to attend the performance. Specific seats cannot be assigned in advance. Special accommodations can be made for those with physical disabilities.

 

When can I arrive with my group for a performance?

Doors open 15 minutes before the performance time. Please note, Flushing Town Hall does not have a dedicated, indoor waiting area for entire classes.  Early arrivals may have to wait in your bus or our garden (weather permitting). Please time your arrival accordingly. 

 

Are there age restrictions for programs?

Recommended grade levels are provided for each performance/workshop/assembly; that said, schools may use their judgment in determining which grade level to bring to any program.

 

Are study guides provided?

Yes, study guides are available for all performances and are provided to school groups who purchase tickets to that respective show.

 

Can students eat lunch at FTH?

Due to space limitations, FTH cannot allow groups to eat meals on the premises. Please note that snacks and drinks are not permitted in the theater. However, on sunny days, you may be able to eat lunch in our garden. Please call in advance to confirm.
