The Lioness™ Women in Jazz Concert series presents Grammy Award-winning baritone saxophonist Lauren Sevian's LSQ featuring Lauren Sevian on baritone saxophone, Helen Sung on piano, Marcos Varela on bass, and E.J. Strickland on drums.

Grammy Award-winning baritone saxophonist Lauren Sevian is one of the most in demand musicians on the scene today. Ms. Sevian came to NYC in 1997 to attend the Manhattan School of Music, and soon thereafter started touring with many different artists. She has been a regular member of the Mingus Big Band since 2003, and has sat in the baritone chair of other notable groups such as the Count Basie Orchestra, Diva, and the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band. She has many different projects as a leader and co-leader, the LSQ, LSAT (which she co-leads with Alexa Tarantino) and Lioness which she co-leads with Amanda Monaco. Some professional career awards include 2020 Jazz Journalists “Baritone Saxophonist of the Year”, 2019 Downbeat Critics Poll winner "Rising Star", 2019 Hothouse Jazz Awards winner, 2018 Made in NY jazz competition winner (LSAT) & 2010 SESAC Jazz awards winner.
