Join us for this dance and storytelling event celebrating people living with dementia, care partners and friends in Queens! Using Stories in the Moment, a dance approach that champions the voices of people living with dementia and works with them to tell their stories, DanceStream Projects artists shift narratives of dementia from one-note narratives of loss to ones of complexity, growth and positivity; narratives created and presented by the people who are living with dementia themselves. We invite you to join us at the Queens Community House Social Adult Day Services, along with participants living with dementia, family members and friends from Forest Hills and surrounding neighborhoods, as we celebrate a 7-month series of dance and storytelling workshops with this community reflecting on themes of belonging as an action we take together.
