A community screening of Bright Vignettes: How Astoria Got Its Pride, a feature film about Astoria's inaugural Pride event in June 2023 and the grassroots milestones leading up to the event. Filmed in Super 8mm and HD video, Bright Vignettes assembles the histories and futures that engaged and determined Queer Astorians are fighting for. Featuring an original score by Queens-based Peruvian-American Queer composer Salvatore Zanelli.
Directed and edited by Patricia Silva, an award-winning experimental Queer filmmaker based in Astoria, Bright Vignettes is their first feature film.
