Event Description:
Join us on Monday, October 19 for an afternoon of storytelling and community-building to commemorate the 38th anniversary of National Coming Out Day.
This event has two parts:
Part 1: 3:30-4:00pm.
Meet at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights for a discussion session where we will record Coming Out Stories and anecdotes.
Part 2: 5:00-6:30pm.
We will walk around the neighborhood visiting important cultural and community organizations throughout Jackson Heights. As we walk, we will use pirate radio to listen to our stories. Walking around the neighborhood and breathing in each other’s stories provides a valuable opportunity for us to have a more profound understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community in Jackson Heights.
