Jazz Jam All-Stars Concert 2026

The Jazz Jam All-Stars Concert returns! Featuring ten outstanding musicians chosen from the talented musicians who regularly perform at the Jazz Jam, this stellar lineup performing on sax, guitar, piano, trumpet and voice include: Angela Arthur (vocals), Richard Braithwaite (tenor sax), Gary Davis (guitar, vocals), Richie Desimone (upright bass), Terrence Dove (piano, vocals), Jason Greenberg (piano), Joe Knipes (guitar), Ken Meyer (saxophone), Keeley Mitchell (vocals), Gerald Thomas (bass/piano/sax).
The All Stars will be backed by our fabulous Jazz Jam House Band led by saxophonist Carol Sudhalter, with Joe Vincent Tranchina, Scott Neumann , and Eric Lemon. This program celebrates and honors the musicians and audiences who regularly attend our in-person Jazz Jams. This concert is a celebration for the NYC Jazz community.
About the Artists:

Angela Arthur is a New York-based jazz vocalist who grew up in a household with jazz. She holds a BFA in Jazz from the City College of New York and performs around the Tri-State Area.

Richard Braithwaite is the Coordinator of Jazz Vespers Communion Services at The Presbyterian Church of St. Albans, and a saxophonist, composer, arranger and bandleader from Jamaica, NY.

Gary Davis, a native of Queens, NYC, is a dynamic vocalist and musician with years of experience in music performance, songwriting and studio recording. Schooled in guitar by famed New York City guitarist Bob Grillo, he later acquired piano skills, crediting his mother, a talented Classical and Gospel pianist, organist and choir director. Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett were key early influences.

Richie DeSimone has played bass since his high school garage band days and took on the upright a few years later when his interest became more focused on jazz. Over the years he has played with various groups including rock, blues and traditional - everyone needs a bass player! He is looking forward to participating in the Jazz Jam All-Stars Concert.

Terence Dove is a native of Long Island, is New York, Terence was educated at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. He has lived in various parts of the United States and traveled through Europe and the Caribbean as an acclaimed pianist. He is presently involved with several churches and choirs in the Tri-State area; and is slated to be featured on two upcoming recording projects.

Jason Greenberg began his piano journey in college by teaching himself boogie-woogie, developing a love for its energy, rhythm, and improvisational spirit. That interest led him to explore jazz, where he grew to appreciate its potential for deeper harmony, creativity, and musical expression. Having played piano since the onset of the pandemic and spending the last two years frequently attending the Town Hall's jam sessions, he continues to study and grow as a musician while drawing inspiration from the likes of Oscar Peterson, Thelonious Monk, and Cedar Walton. He is excited and grateful to be part of this event and continues to look for opportunities to express his love for jazz.

Joe Knipes, born in Albany, NY, surrounded by the sounds of classical music, folk, classic rock and heavy metal, Joe Knipes came to jazz in his early teens. A graduate of William Paterson University, Joe has been performing in the metropolitan area for over 20 years.

Keeley Mitchell is a singer and songwriter from NY who has been featured on gospel, jazz, and R&B albums as a lead and backup singer. She is a 3-time Jazz Jam All-Star at Flushing Town Hall and was recently interviewed by Neon Jazz (on YouTube and streaming platforms). You can find Keeley performing with various outstanding musicians in the tri-state area, including the Rockland Community College Contemporary Ensemble and The Burr Johnson Band.

Ken Meyer is a local musician who has been involved with the FTH Jazz Jam for over ten years. He studied woodwinds with JD Parran and Music Theory, and Improvisation with Gerald Mathew Thomas. He currently plays in numerous big bands around New York.

Gerald M. Thomas, a native New Yorker, professional multi-instrumentalist, band leader, arranger, composer and educator; Gerald has been performing for almost forty years. Tenor saxophone and bass are his primary, but he also plays many other instruments.
