Event Description:
Join us on Monday, October 19 for an afternoon of storytelling and community-building to commemorate the 38th anniversary of National Coming Out Day.
The Tallichet Freedman Foundation is pleased to present Stone’s Throw, an exhibition of twenty
visual artists from our first two micro grant cycles, hosted by Lorimoto Gallery in Ridgewood,
Queens. The exhibition will take place from November 2 through November 15, 2026, and will be
open Tuesday through Sunday, 12:00 to 6:00 PM.
Stone’s Throw includes work from the artists Lillian Ansell, Steven Bukowski, Nickolas Calabrese,
Marilla Cubberley, Hillary Gabryel, Kyra Gregory, Apolline Guillerot-Malick, Anne Hart, Amelia
Heintzelman, Michelle Im, Maite Iribarren Vázquez, Emily Janowick, Monte Marin, Devin Osorio,
TJ Proechel, Andrew Ross, Maíra Senise, Jeanette Spicer, Alina Tenser, and Sarah Trigg.
At the time of their grant awards, all twenty artists lived or worked in the 11385 ZIP code of
Queens, NY, and most continue to do so today. Together, their work offers a creative portrait of
our vibrant neighborhood, showcasing sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, performance,
and design. TTFF is proud to present the artists’ work to the public.
A panel discussion and performance with the artists will take place Saturday, November 14th at
6:30 PM, hosted by writer, curator, and educator Sara Nadal-Melsió.
About The Tallichet Foundation:
The Tallichet Freedman Foundation (TTFF) supports visual artists in Ridgewood, Queens through
unrestricted micro grants, filmed studio interviews, gatherings, exhibitions, and public
programming. We create opportunities for artists across generations, backgrounds, and stages
of their careers, particularly those outside traditional art world structures, to connect, share
ideas, and build relationships. TTFF is intentionally hyper-local, investing in artists where they
live and work.
