Steven Mecca
Director of Production
Steve Mecca has served as Director of Production at Flushing Town Hall since March 2020, overseeing approximately 150 annual events including live performances, festivals, rentals, and digital broadcasts.
Steve’s relationship with Flushing Town Hall began in 2003 as a freelance audio engineer. An early encounter with a master shakuhachi bamboo flute artist, who invited him into his workshop to sell him a handcrafted instrument, deepened his appreciation for global and cultural artistic traditions.
In 2020-2021, Steve was deeply involved in FTH’s pivot to virtual programming, supporting production of nearly 235 digital events and expanding broadcast capabilities. This work contributed to support from the Mid Atlantic Arts Regional Resilience Fund, recognizing organizations demonstrating leadership and regional impact.
Steve currently serves as a Bloomberg Tech Fellow for FTH’s CRM implementation (2025-2027), strengthening institutional infrastructure thanks to funding from Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Digital Acceleration Project grant.
Trained in vocal performance and studio production at Five Towns College, and previous work as an entertainer - he continues to compose and perform, bringing an artist’s perspective to production leadership.
