Lissy Gold
Production Associate
Lissy Gold is one of two in a production department that supports 150+ concerts, theatre, dance, community programs, and rental events each year. Lissy has been with Flushing Town Hall since 2022.
Theatre is Lissy's “everything word”, the lens through which nearly any skill applies and nearly any subject can be addressed. Arts and culture, it turns out, is another name for the same thing.
Their work spans lighting, audio, video, scenic, and stage operations: coordinating crews, managing documentation, and ensuring every artist and organization that walks through the door is met with care and professionalism.
Being a generalist is Lissy's greatest skill, one rooted in a B.A. in Acting/Directing from Dickinson College, where they deliberately cross-trained across every production discipline, because understanding the whole is necessary to any meaningful engagement with any part of it. Dramaturgy remains an active practice, and a deep love of arts and music across genres, as listener, practitioner, and collaborator, runs through everything they do.
There's a Yiddish word Lissy keeps close: דאָיִקייט, doikayt. Where we live, there we belong. The rest follows.
