JH Art Talks is happy to announce that the
Off-Brand show is returning to
Art Retail Therapy (A.R.T.), an art supply and stationery store in Jackson Heights on
December 2!
This year, they are having an
OPEN CALL for Queens-based artists.
The deadline to submit is October 10.
We are asking artists to make work that is in dialogue with the merchandise OR the architecture of the store. Art objects will be integrated into the retail space, offering moments of surprise to the casual shopper. We are seeking 2D/3D pieces that keep merchandise easily accessible to the buyer, are child-friendly, and not too fragile. Art should be securely integrated into shelving units, or can be hung on walls or suspended from the ceiling. To be clear, we are not looking for artist merchandise, but something that responds to A.R.T.’s merchandise or architecture (that being said, work can be offered for sale). We are also open to performance pieces, which can be scheduled during the opening or over the course of the show.
