OPEN CALL for Visual Artists - MexFest 2025: Día de los Muertos | Rituales de Resiliencia

Exhibition Dates: October 30 – November 30, 2025 
Opening Reception: November 1, 2025 | 6–10 PM 
Open Call Period: September 1 – September 15, 2025 

Flushing Town Hall and MexFest, in collaboration with Mexican artists and curators, invites artists to submit visual works for a multidisciplinary exhibition honoring Día de los Muertos. This year’s theme, Rituales de Resiliencia, centers memory, cultural ritual, and ancestral connection.  

We welcome all media that reflects on honoring loved ones, navigating grief, and celebrating life through tradition or personal expression. 

Selected works will be installed at Flushing Town Hall. Submissions must be original works by the artist and follow the guidelines below.  

Artwork Guidelines: 
• Submit ONE 2D work (max 36" on longest side, including frame
• Ready to hang with hardware (no exceptions)
• Plexiglass preferred for framed work
• Videos (if submitted) must be max 3 minutes, on YouTube/Vimeo until Dec 2025
• All work must be hand-delivered and picked up—no shipping accepted

Drop-Off (at Flushing Town Hall): 
October 1–3, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM 
Pick-Up: 
December 2–3, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Public Announcement: October 1, 2025
