Frank Bergamini on the FTH Jazz Jam: “Always the high point of my month; where else can you get to play with the most awesome house band and mix it up with the some of the fantastic local talent around.”
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, raised in Chicago, and has been residing in NYC since 2016, Mimara (Mimi) Block is a classically trained jazz musician, violinist, and vocalist who is also a pop songwriter and producer. A student of jazz legend and master of bebop, Barry Harris, she performed with Arturo O'Farrill of the Afro Cuban Latin Jazz Alliance, and Antoinette Montague, alongside others.
Richard Braithwaite is the Coordinator of Jazz Vespers Communion Services at The Presbyterian Church of St. Albans. He is a saxophonist, composer, arranger and bandleader from Jamaica, NY.
Tony Campo has been playing music since the age of 8. He has performed on piano/keyboards/vocals professionally or semi-professionally in different musical genres including Jazz, American Blues and Rock & Roll. Tony studied improvisational Jazz piano/classical for over 30 years with the NYC jazz pianist/teacher Larry Bluth (Zinnia Records), who taught an improvisation teaching approach, with direct ties to Charlie Parker through Sal Mosca, Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh and of course Lennie Tristano.
Inspired by modern jazz piano greats like Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and Chick Corea, Wajdi Cherif crafts music that blends jazz with other genres, taking listeners on a colorful musical journey. His compositions evoke a wide range of emotions and showcase rich harmonic colors, while his performances bring melodic storytelling and expressive harmonies.
Gary Davis, a Queens native is also a dynamic vocalist and a musician who has years of experience in music performance, songwriting and studio recording. Gary learned guitar from famed New York City guitarist Bob Grillo, and he later acquired piano skills from his mother, a talented Classical and Gospel pianist, organist and choir director. His influences include Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett.
Ken Meyer is a New York musician who has been involved with FTH for over five years. He studied woodwinds with JD Parran and is currently studying improvisation and musicianship with Gerald Thomas. Ken is retired from the NYCDOE where he taught music at PS 95Q.
Keeley Mitchell is a singer and songwriter from NY. She has been featured on jazz and gospel albums as a lead and backup support singer. Her latest recording, "Martha’s Vineyard Keeley", is currently on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
